Method
- Put the 4 Oreos in a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 12 oz (350 ml) and crush them with a fork into fine crumbs.
- Pour in 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of milk and stir until the batter is smooth, with no dry crumbs at the bottom.
- Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder and stir for about 10 seconds until it disappears.
- Microwave for 60 seconds at 1,000 watts, until the cake has risen, looks dry on top and springs back lightly. If the center is still wet, continue in 10-second bursts.
- Let the mug cake rest for 1 minute.
- Top with whipped cream and a crushed Oreo if you like, and serve warm. The mug will be hot.
Notes
Microwave times vary with wattage: about 75 to 90 seconds at 700 to 800 W, 60 to 70 seconds at 1,000 to 1,100 W, and 45 to 55 seconds at 1,200 W or more. Nutrition values are estimates and exclude toppings.
